Description
CUR Series scalable bioreactor platformDeveloped independently by JYSS BIO, the CUR Series Torrent Bioreactor is a single-use bioreactor that uses a non-bubbling interfacial oxygen-transfer mechanism for mixing. While meeting large-volume production requirements, this advanced mass-transfer method helps avoid cell damage caused by bubble surface tension and the high shear generated by impellers in conventional bioreactors.
Within the normal operating speed range, the mean shear rate inside the reactor can be lower than 20 s-1, enabling high-density, high-viability culture of shear-sensitive cells. The series provides working volumes from 0.5 L to 2000 L for cell therapy, gene therapy, monoclonal antibody and vaccine applications.
Operating Principle
Stable wave motion and interfacial oxygen transfer across scalesThe vessel moves in an overall planar circular motion, driving the liquid to form waves that wash the side walls and transfer oxygen into the liquid phase. This enables efficient oxygen dissolution in an extremely low-shear environment. The resulting stable and gentle flow field supports the growth and proliferation of fragile cells.
